I'm an Ottawa native and self taught artist living and loving it in the country with my husband and our two cats Buster and Jude.

I originally sketched people and objects of interest sporadically over the years until 2008. That's when I met fellow artists who encouraged me and where I was introduced to watercolour pencils, which provided the stepping stone for transitioning into the world of colour. F
rom there I quickly evolved to acrylics, offering me greater freedom for details and richer colours.

I’m fascinated with light and the drama it can create. I strive to capture that in my chosen subjects. It's the same with that spark of light that lies within us all. Achieving the essence of a person, especially the detail in the eyes is my purpose. It’s what entices me to paint. Meanwhile, I continue to explore a wide variety of subjects to further develop and expand my range of skills. More recently photography has been featured in a selection of blank greeting cards.

My enthusiasm and passion finds me actively involved in the South Grenville Guild Of Fine Arts, working part time at a garden centre, and sharing the art process, how to's, and stories of my adventures in this blog.  Check out my art gallery  and if you like what you see or are looking to commission some work, contact me privately to arrange for delivery and the applicable costs.
