I survived a marathon day of painting safe for some sore hips from standing for 8 hours. I worked three large canvases at the same time. Mainly to alleviate boredom and to allow for each layer to dry before the next one.
It seems that drying clothes indoors and waiting for paint to dry don't mix. The raised humidity slowed things down . I could have easily had 5 paintings on the go. Space once again is the issue. I really could benefit from a studio. Hence my goal to see if I qualify for grants which is step one.
My pieces were an older abstract attempt that I felt was too dark to be appreciated. It's be reworked to much lighter tones but lacks depth. It needs more work today. The second one was a new abstract in tints of raw umber that resembles a raging seaside. That's the one I showed last week with just texture added. Strangely enough, I don't consider myself a landscape artist! It could also be a close up of Jupiter. I really like it. The texture really helps. I consider it complete. All that's left is to paint the sides and sign. My third is a variation on the dandelion theme. This time the seeds are alone in wind swept sky. Not finished yet. That was the level of productivity I generated considering laundry was also on the menu. One out of three ain't bad!
